Guest Experience is the #1 priority for many couples as we enter into 2026 and 2027.

“How do I enhance the guest experience? What will my guests remember about our wedding?” These are questions couples often ask themselves, and Wedgewood Weddings has the answer. More often than not, guests want to spend time with you—the couple they came to celebrate.

To maximize time spent with your guests, there are a few trends we’ve been seeing more frequently. Not only do these trends extend your time with loved ones, but they also allow you to fully experience and be a part of your own wedding—rather than feeling “on display” all day.

Joining Cocktail Hour

Appetizers, drinks, mocktails, and a full hour to enjoy quality one-on-one time with your guests—cocktail hour is one of the most fun and social parts of your entire wedding. It’s a time for reconnecting: aunts who haven’t seen each other in years, college roommates now scattered across different states, and best of all, you get to be right there in the mix! Grab a cocktail, relax with a plate of appetizers, and soak in some much-needed time with family and friends.

Since cocktail hour immediately follows the ceremony, joining your guests during this time offers a wonderful way to begin your new marriage surrounded by everyone you love. For an unforgettable touch, consider having beverage burros (or mini cows) roam the party, passing out beers and seltzers to your guests.

Last Song & Dance with the Couple

As the night draws to a close, you’ll want to maintain that incredible dance floor energy! The DJ has been delivering hit after hit from your carefully curated playlists, and your guests have been dancing all night long—even Grandma and Grandpa joined in for the Cha Cha Slide. Before the evening ends, you and your DJ will work together to select the perfect final song.

This closing number is designed to bring everyone—from their seats to the dance floor—for one last celebration with you as a couple. It’s a final chance for all your guests to dance alongside you and create those lasting memories together. A designated last song also naturally signals that the evening is winding down, eliminating the need for a formal grand exit.
